1. Be behind Mac in bumper to bumper traffic
2. Make sure your headlights are on maximum overblast
3. Keep them that way for an hour

I usually turn my rear fog light on to annoy them back.

Sometimes I wonder if certain vehicles just have especially bright low beams and if height is a factor. It always seems to be lifted pickups and big SUVs that bother me the most. Maybe it’s just the people that drive them.

Not a US thing, sadly. I usually just adjust my side mirrors so its headed right back at them.

Ever followed a German car looked like part of the right rear running light was out?
That’s the owner leaving his rear fog on like an idiot.

Nighttime falls on Austin, TX:
70% of drivers turn on lights.
20% of drivers don’t fucking bother.
10% of drivers leave high-beams on at all fucking times.

I thought about Audi Allroads as soon as I posted that... I was hoping nobody else would remember.
I can see that was futile.

We’ve had five Audis, three of which were from that era.
Not bloody likely.

Super bright red light on the back of the car, they’re a requirement in the UK I believe.

I just did some reading up on US regs regarding rear fog lamps... there is no federal statute against them at all. I am a dumbass.

They’re mandatory in many (maybe all) places in Europe. It’s the reason grey market imports have one of those silly aftermarket things installed.

I keep thinking I need to install on of those bro-truck LED lightbars in the back window to retaliate. “you want to blind me, eh?” *click* “Who is your god now?”

That’s actually a pretty great idea for tailgaters now that I think of it! Shit if I had a truck I would do that, I would flip it on and off like a flash from a camera and just blind the shit out of them.

Look for it for a bit, I’m sure you’ll run into some. I saw 3 people with theirs on just on the way into work today: Land Rover (two, in the bumper); E-class/Allroad (both had a single one left side integrated into the brake light). Granted I have a horrendous commute and see hundreds of cars daily so YMMV.
Also, they don’t light up super bright like some of these other folks are implying...they’re about the same brightness as activated brake lights. This can actually get kinda confusing with Volvos since a lot of them have dual ones integrated into the brake lights so it looks like they’re always braking but their CHMSL is out. When they actually brake it lights up two additional lights in the brake light enclosures and the CHMSL. Also, when the newer Volvos do the safety panic auto brake thing the rear fogs strobe which is interesting.

the dude was probably intoxipated.. (But I do still think those little bro truck LED lightbars are cool - whichever way they are pointed.) I believe it’s the color that is the issue with those - no blue or green typically allowed. Thought the statues are at the state level.
